Happy November!  Our wonderful community has been hard at work preparing for the annual Fall Fest Auction and Raffle, a Parent Program, kicking off Chess Club and Run Club, collecting entries for Reflections, preparing recess bins, improving safety on the playground and showing appreciation for our Gator Staff!!! Please read below for details regarding upcoming programs and ongoing events.

Virtual Chess Club began Wednesday, October 14th and is in full swing!

Kids are joining tournaments with their school mates each Wednesday. In addition, we are scheduling other tournaments throughout the week to give our chess players many opportunities to practice their skills.

Kids will be recognized weekly/monthly for their level of involvement with the most solved puzzles, most stars, most won games, etc.  

We are excited to get our first year of Virtual Chess Club started!

Glenhope PTA is proud to offer a running club with the purpose of promoting FUN, FITNESS and FELLOWSHIP within our school community! The kids have been running virtually and will continue to do so until it is safe to return to in person Run Club. Please reach out to gatorrunningclub@glenhopepta.org with any questions. 

The Healthy Lifestyles Committee has been busy creating recess activity bins for each class/grade level.  Check out pictures below.  The kids have really enjoyed having these bins that are filled with fun activities like jump ropes, balls and frisbee's as they distance on the playground!

The Student Health Advisory Council met this month and discussed the annual curriculum on state mandated suicide prevention. This is for all students in 6th-12th grade. The updated curriculum will be implemented in January 2021. Other resources include: Hope Squad, Friends for Life, Gaggle and Mind Above Matter.

A group of moms spent a Sunday afternoon cleaning up the GO WILD Gator Garden.  This is an ongoing project that we will continue to improve on over the next few months. Thank you to the parents that helped with this effort!
